as a portal for users it's great.
as the official gateway i would prefer ubuntu.com.
as far as i can see, ubuntuusers is integrated in 4 clicks from the
ubuntu.com startpage. if it would be the english user resource it could
be integrated in 2 clicks.
i think we can learn a lot from ubuntu.
there are 2 kind of people arriving on typo.org:
1 those who don't know what it's all about
2 those who know that it's a wcms
first of all put (1) into (2) by telling them briefly what it's all
about. than have a look at 2:
2.1 those who have never been on the site before: give them prominent
easy to find and use links to the information most of them are
looking for (e.g download, support, contribution...)
2.2 those who have already been there: give them a not-as-prominent

at ubuntuusers there is a lack for (1) but surely it's not meant for
users of category (1).
