news.typo3.org is our central hub for news, also technically. The
main purpose is to manage news for typo3.com, typo3.org and
association.typo3.org from one place - I still think that this makes
a lot of sense. Another reason for having a separate news site (on a
separate server in a separate data center) is that we're still able
to communicate in the unlikely event of break down of one of the
other sites.
For me it doesn't make much difference if you have a overview of all
news feeds at typo3.org/news or at news.typo3.org. What could be
discussed though is which news are displayed at which place. That
mainly depends on which categories the news item author selects.
