Hi all,
I think this discussion is quite superflous
a) lib/div is PHP5 ready since a few days. Everybody can code clean PHP5
style and should do so in public extensions.
b) Linux distributions like Ubuntu don't ship PHP4 any more. So we really
don't need eager missionaries to achive this.
c) It's a matter of fact that there are a lot of customers that still
require PHP4 support in private. Why should we exclude their developers
from working with lib/div? There is no need for such a paternalism. I costs
us a smile.
I seriously invite those of us, who want to sanitize lib/div from PHP4
support, to start a branch. SVN has a directory for that called "branches".
When the work is done it's probably time to switch.
Regards
Elmar
