I read somewhere on php.net that the php-developers don't WANT to have 3
developing-branches what are very different in some cases, and want to
stop the 4-branch. That's the reason - and a very good reason in my
eyes. In the moment: 4, 5, 6

Nobody gives support for PHP3 since many years :-)
