Hello Kari,
I can understand your impatience. Central decisions can't be done without the
coordination with the R&D. We are all waiting for Robert. Without fixing the
central fields our work would be like building castels in the air.
For me the contributions on the mailing follow principles. We have set up
central projects like pratner framework, mvc, quickstart packages. Important
parts of the work have started. The MVC discussion is quite far and near to a
first implementation. Still nobody has volunteerd to lead it, but it's rolling.
First Content Rendering Schemes have been defiend. The new installer for
packages has been discussed and tested.
We have a motivated organizer for the partner framework. As long as the R&D team
gives no feedback to Davids proposals it does not make sense to work deeper on
this central field. Nobody joined discussion upon the launch of partner
framework. David has invited you to bring in your ideas. You didn't. David will
get active again as soon as R&D gives feedback. That seems to by the
precondition that other people will take it seriously to join in.
Setting up a core group is a good idea. Who can be the core group? Obviously
those who actively take part in the discussions on this list, those who proposed
and started projects and again the R&D people.
The discussions on this list is the discussion of a voluntary core group for the
beginning. We have set it up as a communication platform for this. With time we
can write down the names of most constructive contributers to give some names to
the core group. But writing down names first and then hoping that people
contribute something doesn't work. We can only get as far as people take up
responsibilities for fields and push it.
Best Regards
Elmar
