[TYPO3-core] Streamline FAL-metadata editing

Hi,

Just for the sake of clarity, are we talking about the list or the detail view of a file? You mentioned IRRE, so I assume it is the "detail" view. 
Going with IRRE would require more clicking for the User but I guess you are thinking of a modified version of IRRE which transparently display the 1:1 relation.

For the background discussion - which is the deletion of the file - can't we go for a Hook? That would be the most straight forward solution I guess. You would hook and delete the parent record if possible. For the case the file has reference, a flash message should be displayed "deletion not possible".

BTW, it would be also nice to improve the meta-data in the list view. I guess it is one of the reason of EXT:media ;)

I would be all in favour, if we can team up to improve the list view of files at the Core level.
