It will become mostly valid with 6.0. Between 4.0 and 6.0 we had to use 
minor versions as major or minor releases. There were releases which 
could be regarded major versions, but the 5.0 was still reserved so it 
had to be a minor version number.

Regarding the Release lifecycle mentioned in the article we provide 
updates for more older branches than stated in the article. Until spring 
of 2014 we will support at least three (!) branches instead of one.

Patch-level versions with security fixes might in fact contain changes 
which require some action by an integrator/administrator/maintainer.

We could run automated updates for patch-level versions, provided that 
there is a mechanism to change this into a notification for a pending 
update (in case human intervention is needed).
