There is also another patch in the BT from Benni which checks if checks 
if self::firstDomainRecord returns something.

Yet another idea to tackle that problem: if $id = 0 and 
self::getDomainStartPage returns a record -> override the $rootline with 
the one from the page where the domainRecord is configured.
That way self::firstDomainRecord should be able to fetch "the right" domain.
