Sure.
the word TREE implies that there always is one supernode / parent node 
etc, anything else would not be an tree, but an overall graph :)

Did you ever found the SAME (not equal) apple an two places on an apple 
tree? Did you ever have the SAME file (not copy) in two folders?

So if you use more than one parent, you definetively have an 
design-problem in your software-architecture :)
