I think you are incorrect. Before (in 0.4.0) you handled localization completly in TV.

Now it seems you (or Robert) are going to modify TV in such a way that it does localization
by using the tce-main localization API:
$cmd[tt_content][UID][localize] = sys_language_uid

But when this should get achieved this way (when no "home-brewn" localization should get
done in TV) then changes to the core will be necessary (no major one as you think or stated)

And as I wrote: THIS WORKS PROPERLY WITH WORKSPACES.



And regarding the case that this should be Kaspers work: I think Kasper has such a lot to
do that he hardly finds time for every issue HE wants to solve.
I think it would be the best if Kasper did take a quick look at this one and state if it
is somehow solved like he would have done it or if he would have choosen a different approach.
This problem is very important and it MUST get solved before final ...

I can live without 4.0 having proper translation functions for TV - I can patch it myself - but
most of the people who use T3/TV wont do that !

I do not know which major change is still required for Workspaces and localization to work
properly together as this already seems to be the case !


PS: The patch for TV did have a problem with "langChildren = 1" ... I have a fixed version but do
not post it because Martin meant it would be no good to post non-core patches here.
