btw: shouldn't Extbase merge the settings so that you could write
pageUid="{settings.singlePid}"
and the singlePid of the current action/controller would be used - or 
the general singlePid if it wasn't overwritten?

I remember, that we talked about that at the core meeting in Hamburg, 
but I can't remember the conclusion..
