The conclusion IMHO was that we did not want to force a special 
structure for the settings as it depends a lot on the domain what is 
configurable in which case.

If you need such a versatile configuration depending on single 
controllers, you can always use the standard TypoScript "<" operator and 
set the settings of the View inside initializeView() (in the controller).
