At least you could remove the "State". That does not make it clearer in 
my eyes. Why not:
setRespectStoragePage(TRUE);
and
setCheckVisibility(FALSE);

And instead of "checkVisibility" maybe "respectEnableFields" or 
"useEnableFields".
I don't like the name "enable fields" but every TYPO3 dev knows it..
