What's the advantage of google groups?

Maybe I missed that. What I mean: I don't like pure mailing lists at
all. But I love NNTP and a real newsreader. And I appreciate the
news://lists.typo3.org service very much.

Its interesting to me that this possibility exists. Usually I'm
looking for just the other way round: A lot of originally "pure
mailinglist" are available as News from gmane.org.

I'm hoping NNTP will stay alive ...
