We had some discussion about this, which was in short:
- everyone in central europe thought 1024 would be the standard.
- Valery stated that this is not the case in eastern europe and beyond and
had good examples for that. His examples switched the size according to
language settings. We don't have that option.

I suggest we make 1024 the standard and put an 800x600 link on the bottom of
the page, so people can switch.

I would rather not have a scalable design.

Yes please. As this is a showcase, it should be the best possible codoing
quality.
