dear boyzzz,
sice i'm the one responsible for the existing texts written on
edu.typo3.com, i would like to make a short statement here - if you allow:
i took Sander's (english) text, asked the project leader, got the info that
i should start with a german version, did it and now english will be
implemented soon.
so, if you like (and to stop the discussion and start to work
constructively again), blame it on me, if you need somebody to put the
shame to - i can stand that easily, as most of you know... ;-)
for me, as an economist, its always a question of offer and request, of
input and output quantities.
fact is, that the german speaking community is - quantitywise - the biggest.
(i am austrian, we do speak german down here in the east),
BUT:
to keep international efforts moving, enter new markets, push the open
source project to an internationally effective size and give it the
acceptance & importance that it earns, we HAVE TO agree on english as the
leading languages. Others to follow.
i agree here absolutely with the finns, danes, dutch(ess) ... and shurely
french one day ....
so, what at least i learned from that:
first version always(!) english, localising is done by national or
pan-national marketing efforts.
leaving this discussion now for keep on working on the english version of
edu...
yous sincerely,
jeanne d'arc
