hmm, i thought it might be a good idea to let *interested* visitors (maybe
fe-users) comment or annotate projects that they are interested in - without
"forcing them" to become a project member. An example:
On gov.typo3.com, page "planned projects", i will describe an organisation
guide (an extension needed by many towns, villages and counties - Such an
extension allows visitors to find the persons responsible for
tasks/services). I am interested to find out which functionality *many*
people (from authorities) expect from such an extension *before* i (or
others) start coding. So *interested* visitors could easily shout out: "hey,
cool plan, what about integrating a function that allows to ..." of course
it would still be programmer's choice to integrate the function or not...

Apart from the "accessability-faq" that we talked about a few days ago, i
would also like to give hints on extensions that use DB-listings (like a
company listing):

***good example for usability:
Using an extension where the fe-output is cached and indexed assures that
visitors will find all Data using the indexed search.
Example: Try to find "füssel" using the indexed search field top left on
this page: http://typo2.fabrikation.de
The Search result lists the name of the extension-db-record record. Very
good.
(Example from a german village that a friend (Markus Bentele) is about to
relaunch with typo3, using nico ueckermann's "directory"-extension, slightly
modified by me.)

that visitors won't be happy.
Example: Try to find "westmarkt" using the indexed search field below the
navigation on this page : http://www.schwangau.de
No result. aargh.
If you do the same search with the search field on this page:
http://www.schwangau.de/Firmen___Verein.529.0.html you get a result. but you
have to know this page exists... Very bad.
(Example from my very first, self-programmed extension (04/2002))

I have seen quite a few pages where searching is a pain...
