[Typo3-linux] Parse error: parse error, unexpected $

	(Sorry if this appears twice--new to list and not sure it went
through the first time)

	After a number of trials and tribulations, I have installed the
zipped version of the 3.8.0 test site package on a sub-domain of my shared
hosting account--and am at the point where it almost works. I wasn't able to
find this particular problem in any of my archive searching.

	When I try to do certain things in the back end, I get this error
message in the right column:

"Parse error: parse error, unexpected $, expecting '(' in
/hsphere/local/home/kypaedit/test.kypa.net/typo3/typo3/t3lib/class.t3lib_cli
pboard.php on line 327." 

	I get this error when I click on the "List" or "File List" icons,
when I click "edit page header" on a page, and when I click on the "show
record list" icon. 

	The message also appears in the frame at the top, just to the right
of the logo.
