Anyway, the message I referenced was just two subjects before (reply to
Martin Bertschi).

No problem for me since PNG works great.
Wait for this month when the LZW patent runs out. Maybe things will change
now. But I still hope that people start using PNGs since these doesn't
depend on such restricting patents.

Never heard of that. Anyway, I use Debian, my this is worth a try for you?

Correct.
What does it help him if he uses a SuSE server where all important software
packages are installed from scratch? I think it doesn't make any difference
if it's SuSE or Debian now...

Well, the packages and the script may be great, but the idea of using
non-standard software packages on a server is a thorn in my side.
