no change. never mind.

hmm, must have got lost during the crash - my mozilla as usual in such
cases complained about missing post_id or something and I had to
re-subscribe to the groups. Never received that one msg.
AND: I'll knowingly violate the rulez now and break exactly the thread
you referred to by writing a reply to Martin Bertschi with a new msg,
not by "send reply" >-) Kill me for that, hehe ;)

well, yes, but IE f.ex. has a problem displaying alpha channel
transparancy with png's - at least without funky JS workarounds - while
transparent gif's work fine on all browsers.

sure, you're right about that - but I still prefer compiling from
scratch with a script in a fast way that handles everything I could do
manually. Upgrading is similar - either (bad idea) wait for Lars' new
script or (better idea) adapt the script and rerun it with the bugfixed
tar.gz's. I know it's not optimal, but it works and I have full control
over the way stuff is being compiled.

Re-useability of their own stuff written exclusively for SuSE is the key
here...

except for the patched gdlib and the testsite-db's (which I delete
anyway), everything in Lars' package is plain, pure, standard tgz from
the official sources.

jihad ;)

Yes, looking forward to next springtime :-)
