[TYPO3-english] Supressing News Catagories in tt_news

I've got a plugin that operates as such:  "Latest News" displays all items
tagged with our Channel tags. 

 

I recently added a content slider and that operates by pulling all items
marked with a News Category of 'Slider Homepage'  

 

I basically want "Latest News" to display all items tagged "channel" BUT
suppress all items tagged 'slider homepage'
