[TYPO3] [direct_mail] trouble rendering plain text

Hi everyone,
 
What do I have to do to get pages rendered as plain text with
direct_mail? I've inlcude the static templates used by direct_mail for
plain text but when I request the page with &type=99 only the content of
the plaintext template is shown. Is there anymore configuration to be
done?
