Hi Philipp,

sorry to have to tell you, but exactly your behavior / comments, not only in this thread but also on the list, show a big range of ignorance, stuff that easily qualifies as sexcism and bullying.

"... but they are offended even if men talk about them or look at them." qualifies as sexcism
" There is a limit of course, but an attractive women must learn to deal with men watching ..." qualifies as sexcism
" But what I do care about is people that just talk bullshit and claim the attribute scientific for there made up reality." qualifies as bullying
"Look at the current #Aufschrei bullshit in Germany ... an elder politician told a young female journalist at a hotel bar after midnight that her boobs would be well fitting in traditional closes. She complains a year later.

What happens about a thousand times in each night in Germany and is just normal sexual behavior, is presented like being insulting. If the women has no interest, she can say so or just ignore the approach." qualifies as sexcism and bullying

I actually do not know if we have a bigproblem yet, but belive me when I tell you it will emerge with the amount of women attending our events, if we don't have rules and COC in place that ban such behavior, and ban people repeatedly behaving that way.

And my dear Philipp, we actually had those cases a few times during the last years on our events. Some girls told me stories about such bad behavior on DevDays, BarCamps and Con.

Don't get me wrong, looking is perfectly fine for the most of the girls working in IT, ... stripping nacked with the eyes and jiggiling & talking with your friends isn't, in any case.

Only because a girlwears a tank top, heels and a short skirt on a dev event does not make it right, sorry.

Behavior and comments like yours here and on the list shows, sadly in my eyes, we need to remind especially the younger ones that this is inappropriate behavior in a grownup pro and adult environment.

And the case described was one of the lightest a fellow female dev / pm/ etc. told me on a community event. Belive me there had been cases of "exidental touching", "jokingly butt slapping", and really bad attitude and behavior too. ("Girls don't belong here", "Hey babe, nice legs / ..." and worse.

Only because none of the girls has gone public so far doesn´t mean it does not happen on our events. It just means the harassed feel not save enough to come forward.

So on this I think Tolleiv and Jigal are very right.

COC saying "be respectful" seems not to be enough for a minority of us, so perhaps we should give them some examples what might be considered bad unacceptable attitude, and maybe we should give the ones not that loud and strong the feeling that if they come forward they will be protected and not laughted at because someone loud can not imagine to fell harassed by a certain behavior.

just my 2 cents

Chris
