Hi Daniel,
Let me just give my 2ct to the whole issue...
Maybe there are some facts that have to be considered:
Not everyone has online access to his banking account.
Not every bank is handling transactions the same way. Some banks collect
the transactions until the evening and transfer the money in the night.
In the worst case the booking on your banking account appears two days
later because your bank receives the transfer in the morning and
registers it on your account the following night.
Other banks transfer the money immediately when they receive the
transfer order.
So those ones with a banking account at a bank that does the transfer in
the night have a disadvantage. But the money will be transferred faster
than of those who don't have online access and have to hand over a paper
transfer order.
What I would suggest is the following:
Everyone had the chance to register online at the same time. So the
first 80 that have registerd should recieve the places provided they
transferred the money within a certain time - let us say 10 calendar
days to make it possible for every different kind of banking account to
transfer the money in time.
If someone hasn't transferred the money in this long time then maybe you
could draw lots for the vacant places.

There should have been a reminder maybe one month before... I didn't
remember and was surprised by the announcement... I was looking at the
typo3.org and typo3board pages but wasn't able to find any information
on the tour. Maybe I was just too blind...
Anyway: to those participating: have fun and enjoy - and to those who
didn't make it in time: try to find a different accommodation or try
next year. Maybe then the registration process will be a little bit
better and fairer for everybody and maybe there will be more places so
everybody will be able to take part.
Take care
Bernd
