I think the actual issue is that the page is actually *not* selected
upon creation. Instead the previous page is selected (blue font):

As you write in your follow-up this only happens if you move the page on
the same level. And this is a severe bug.
I just made a (hot)fix - could you please check whether this solves the

Thanks a lot for getting back to us, apparently we forgot to test this
very use case when we fixed node moving with
