[TYPO3-RTE] Justify text in rtehtmlarea ?

I have upgraded to TYPO3 4.0 and have started to use rtehtmlarea and
everything seems to be nice and fine, except for one thing. I am a bit
confused by the way justify left, right and center is handled in
rtehtmlarea. It seems to be three different ways to handle that, when I set
RTE.default.showButtons=*
1. by using the "blockstyle" button in the top of the editor.
2. by one of the left, right and center button in the middle row in the top
of the editor.
3. by "align" below the editor in the content element.
When I clicks on (2) one of the left, right or center buttons, nothing
happens with the alignment of the tekst, but if I use (1) the blockstyle to
choose right, left or center, the text is changing to the correct alignment.
Why is not (2) the left, right or center button working, while (1) changing
with the blockstyle is working.
Does I have to activate (2) the left, right or center button in some way
before I could use them for changing alignment ?
Is it any hierarchy among the three way to change alignment ?
