Yes, we should think about a similar system to CVS to keep track on our
improvements. The main editor (picking up Peter's idea) handles the
different states, e.g.
state: draft in progress
state: draft final 28.6.2004
state: proofreading in progress
state: proofreading final 28.8.2004
state: final review in progress
state: stable 28.9.2004
Of course the final states can be skipped if e.g. proofreading would
take place immediately. Only the appropriate fo the above lines would be
at the beginning of each article (or page) so it is clear to users and
writers/proofreader/etc. what state the article is in.
This would be helpful especially if we are talking about many small
articles like we are with the glossary. It also would help with bigger
articles to split up in sections, e.g.
http://wiki.typo3.org/index.php/Debian_installation_manual
Other than that I like Peter's approach like at the beginning of the
TYPO3 Installation Basics.

That's a good idea. I think once users realize that there is a wiki some
of them might prefer the look up things at wiki.typo3.org even if some
parts are not approved (again similar to CVS). So dating states would
be helpful.
