[TYPO3-dam] Why is the field file_type_version read-only?

Hi

is there a reason why that field is read-only? I'm using the latest DAM version and we need to edit the version of a file since there are files which don't have the version set.

Would you recommend to change the TCA with an extension like tcamanipulate or add another field in a custom extension?
