[TYPO3-dam] handling dam internal references

Hello,

what approach are you taking for adding images(thumbnails/pictures) to
DAM media (PDF/video)?

Currently there seems to be a field: 'parent_id', in a somewhat unclear
state.

Since I wasn't brave enough for now I added my own "intermediate" table
which relates a DAM image and a DAM media. I'd probably like to imrove
this in future.
