that sounds like it could also be part of some kind of
gallery-extension. Currently I'm going to develop a DAM-based gallery
with FE-management (users that can upload images to their gallery,
categorize them, enable/disable comments and ratings ect.) and some
filtering/searching features. It is currently in planing - we only wait
for the 1.0 DAM-release to start developing. The gallery will be needed
till may besides of many other community-features (pm, tutorials, rating).

Maybe we can combine our ressources.

how about batch-converting with photoshop? Should work with splitted
EPS-files. It is no problem there as long as you have the files locally.
If you need help how to do it, just drop me a mail.
But it should work like this:
- open a eps
- create an action and name it
- goto "file->save as"
- change format, maybe the location but *DON'T* touch the filename
- close the image
- stop the action
- goto "file->automatism" (don't know how it is labeled in english)
- select your action (should be default) and your starting-folder
- get some coffee :)
