The point in being in the team is of course socialising. Within the team 
you get all the info and there are all the folks who are permitted to do 
changes. While this is fine for many parts of the development it naturally 
is a problem when issues are (for some reason) of no/little interest to 
members of the team. In this case valuable input and opionios are lost (or 
cast aside because they come from "outsiders"). This is not s fine, but I 
fear this is a normal behaviuor of human societies.

If you want to improve accessiblity for TYPO3 but don't want to join the 
Core team, I suggest that you try to contact the Association on a formal 
level. Maybe there is money to pay a developer if noone of the volunteers 
is interested enough in accesibility.

PS: During the time on the list I noticed that there are many, many 
opinions on how accessible code should look like. It's hard to determine 
which of the posters here have a clue and which don't. If we changed the 
code any time one of the experts or wanna-be-gurus brought forth another 
piece of xhtml we'd be changing the code very second week.
