it is the goal to make xhtml 1.0 strict possible, not to fix the output 
to xhtml 1.0 strict generally. The goal is also to bound the many small 
configurations to only one, e.g.:
config.doctype = xhtml_strict

it can also be another one:

config.doctype = xhtml_trans

of course it is not necessary, but it is a good thing to have a choice ;-)
