[TYPO3-english] Typo3 6.1.7 Dummy package installer failed

Adriaan,

With PHP 5.3.3 happens the error that I mentioned above. With PHP 5.5.9 and
MySQL 5.5 I can't even start the wizard, the installer tool says that
"There is no connection to the database!" but I actually can connect from a
regular PHP script to the DB.

After checking the logs.. I've found this on deprecation log (no exceptions
logged anywhere):
11-03-14 18:28: DatabaseConnection->sql_pconnect() and
DatabaseConnection->connectDB() should be called without arguments. Use the
setters instead.

I don't know.. I find hard to believe nobody tested the installer tool
properly.
