[TYPO3-english] Rebranding: Get the green back

hi kay,

this is a funny comparison. think about the following:

lets do a time travel back in time... to the moment when we switched the
triple sheet logo to the orange/green logo.

if i would have shown
A. the (back then *new*) orange green logo
B. and the (back then *actual*) triple sheet, triple color logo -> i
hope you remember it, i still do...
to your designer - *exactly* right after the orange/green logo was
"invented" back then. and would have asked him "Where is the TYPO3
Logo"? he would *definitely* pointed to the triple sheet logo - since it
was the actual logo back them and the new logo was totally new.

what does this mean: does this mean the back-then-new logo is bad? or
does this mean that he recognizes the back-then-actual logo thus this
logo did a good job? i would say the second... but if i transfer what
you say atm i would have to answer this question with: the back-then-new
logo is bad. thus we would never have switched to this logo, which means
we would still stick to the triple sheet, triple color logo.

i think it's actually way cool that your designer recognizes the
new-only-orange-logo after a short time, which he *never* would have
back then, since the upper mentioned two logos were so different. this
means that we do not loose the logo, we recognize it after a short time
by shape. but for processing this information for the first few times we
need some seconds. but since we are human beings we will adapt very fast
(because it is only change in *one* color, the other color and the shape
still remain). and after some contact with the new logo it will be the same.

UNTIL there will be the next change... ;-)
then we meet again and lots of people will testify that this only-orange
logo is and was and ever will be the *only* logo for typo3 ;-) - sorry i
had to write that ;-) - i'm taking this discussion serious i just
already saw *two* other logo changes in our typo3 universe - this is the
*third* time this happens. it is the second time by rasmus (so i really
trust in his professionalism). and since the two former changes enhanced
things, i'm sure this third will too. if we wouldn't have done them, we
would still stick to this nice first blue typo3 logo - i call it the
ufo-logo ;-). hmmm, mabye actually we can switch back to it - it would
have a nice kind of retro touch ;-) - just kidding.

but the important thing is: i want to thank all of you for the
contribution, discussion and the identification - we surely have to work
on communication - this is not new and not easy but we will manage one
day ;-)

what i also want to say: thank you rasmus for your work! i love all the
things you produced over the years and how you took care and managed to
foster such a big identification. and i appreciate that you are so
enthusiastic in this thread and that you don't get tired to answer
questions, explain, argue and take care of the fears. last but not least
the communication takes place.
