Found out. Sorry. Some weird access problem somewhere in the typo3 tree. 
I finally found out that any manual modification I was doing in the 
localconf.php file wasn't read at all. And the permissions to the 
localconf.php were OK.So, at the beginning of the tree, I did:

chown -R apache.apache [typo3_src]
chmod -R ug+rw,o-rwx [typo3_src]

Don't know exactly what was wrong there (I didn't change anything in the 
perms of my website tree. Just the typo3 source tree), but suddenly, 
I've been able to access the install tool, and now, any manual change in 
localconf.php (even if it's no longer needed...) is shown in Admin 
tools:Configuration

Go figure...
