Hi Jigal

WEC is developping their package since 2004 - Forge did not exist at this
time.
We develop T3Pack since 2006 - dito!

Another very great starter Package you can find here. They also started long
time before forge.
You are absolutely right that it is counter productive that none of forge
has ever joined and consulted these projects before.

http://www.mediatech.net/typo3_templates.html
where is Gregory Remington in the list of this project?

http://demo.webempoweredchurch,org
where are all those great Developers of WEC?

http://templavoila.busynoggin.com
where is Ron hall with the REALLY great framework for templavoila
This framework is it actually ONLY which fascinates the people here in ASIA
as no other CMS has got such a flexible stuff build in !

http://t3pack.com
where is us in the list?

Where is Michael Bartel who build t3s - which me maintain meanwhile and will
get it running again hopefully soon in 4.4

and don't forget those YAML packages of Dieter Bunkerd and others which are
older than forge too?

There are lots and lots of initiatives which build packages and IMHO it is
good so and not necessarily they need to collaborate but those who build the
Introduction Package cold have learned from them too.

There is a forge project [1] for the Introduction Package. Wouldn't it be

I work since 2004 with WEC and since 2006 we coordinate all our effort with
their packages (as you can also see on the mailinglist since this time)
There is really no need to DEVELOP a new package as those Packages are
already there including a great documentation.

Have a look to what Greg did with his wireframes for standard templating
and what WEC does in TemplaVoila since 2004/2005

Why always reinventing the wheel and not reusing all those good ideas. Why
not linking simply from the TYPO3.org website to all those packages and
their great Tutorials and Classes/Examples. What we need for TYPO3 is
actually already there long time before the starter Package. The problem is
only that only a few people find those packages as there is no link or hint
on TYPO3.org.

As great as the Introduction package is and it is really nice, without
doubt, but it was actually only a reinvention and waste of energy as the
documentation does not fulfill what a documentation is supposed to do.

My suggestion is therefor to simply build a subpage on TYPO3.org where you
list all those Packages which have been released 100% GNU/GPL.
So people can go there and test them all out.

Of course you could ask WEC if they would be OK to distribute their Package
- and we (ThaiPo3) can help to make it also available as a nonreligious one
- and perhaps those TS Gurus could make them even much more easier to handle
than they are already.

It would be great to have a package where people could set it up and use it
with even changing and line of code or TS.
Everything could be prepared via TYPOscript Constants and editable by
Constant Editor or similar/as an addition to wec_config.
This would show the real usabilty of TYPO3 for EVERYBODY - even the
noncoder!
