You are exactly right Ries
Let's see what the hosting company answers to him: Why don't you run your
site on Drupal or Joomla this works fine here
If the customer likes and trusts his hoster as he had provided good service
and prices before he will switch sure, as soon as he has find a developer
who will set his site up with those applications - and that's the real
downthing of certification.

Better would be to give the developer something at hand so he can MOTIVATE
the hosting provider to change his environment to a secure TYPO3 friendly
one. Usually the base of the server is pretty much the same but the settings
and additional applications make the difference. All of those additional
things can usually be implemented easily in a running server without need to
setup a complete new one. IMHO a provider might be very happy to invest this
time to update his environment to be TYPO3 secure.

In this case the developer would get in contact with the provider and the
customer and the provider are happy and will spread the word about TYPO3.
