[TYPO3] TMENU with subtitle rollover

Hi folks,

I'm currently working on the following problem.

I use a TMENU with UL and LI tags. Styling is done via CSS. The title
field is used as text for the buttons. So very straight forward. Now the
customer wants a "mouse over" effect, that displays the subtitle. I know
that the TMENU element dos not support RO, so does anybody has an idea
of how to do this without switching to GMENU ?
