[Typo3] Login and Redirect - help please

I don't know if TV affects this, but somethings not mentioned in your post might do:

The constant "Content" has a Login Pid (users sysfolder) which I think must be set for any template affected by userights. (depending on "clear constants/setup/rootlevel)

The pageheader in the advanced pages(as for templatepage) has a "General record storage" where you can also point to your users.

Anyways, staying at the same page after login indicates that your main template dont "know" the users.
