[Typo3] Firefox vs IE

I'm using an html template that mixes tables with css. This template 
delivers consistant results, but in IE I get a strange gap between the 
first and second column of my table that doesn't appear in Firefox. I'm 
guessing it has something to do with the stylesheet.

Can anyone provide insight into this?
