[Typo3] image links do not work?

I'm afraid that i haven't understood your question

I thougt you that you want to set a link over a picture in a Content Element.

If you are using a "Image CType" und only use the picture link, than nothing would happen on your site, because you have inserted no image that could be displayed on your page.

First you will have to insert an image and then the picture link will leed to the site you have defined with the picture link.
