php.net says about safe_mode: "The PHP safe mode is an attempt to solve
the shared-server security problem. It is architecturally incorrect to try
to solve this problem at the PHP level"
followed by: "Warning
Safe Mode was removed in PHP 6.0.0."

In short, the makers of PHP don't like it and have removed it in PHP6...

Each time a new language is added to the site this needs to happen.
The whole point of L10N Manager is that translators can manage the
translation by themselves.

All largish websites using L10N Manager will suffer from this :-(
