Again: What do you want to improve? Is there anything that could not be done
in PHP already?

Give them TYPO3-live and that's it.

If you just want a one-click installation, better forget the autoconf
approach and help on tuning up the Install Tool.

But there is nothing special that could not be done with PHP!

typo3_source-...zip is for upgrading existing installations. If you want to
install a fresh site then use one of the site packages, e.g. dummy-...zip
which additionally contains fileadmin/, typo3conf/, etc.

BTW, this has nothing to do with permissions handling (see above).
