[Typo3-dev] usergroup as blobs?

Hmm..
How come the usergroups a user are a member of is stored in a blobfield? It
must be very time consuming to find out which users that belongs to which
usergroups if there is a huge amount
of users that are members of many different usergroups.
Must be some reason that usersgroups are added to a blobfield instead of
having a relations table?
