Sorry, but 'Indexierung' is what is meant here. This is one of the
books I have read recently (note the 'Indexieren', not 'Indizieren'):

 Fugmann, Robert (1999). Inhaltserschließung durch Indexieren:
 Prinzipien und Praxis. Informationswissenschaft der GDG. Deutsche
 Gesellschaft für Dokumentation e.V., Frankfurt am Main.

Those are two different meanings, 'Indexieren' is in fact a specific
term used in documentation science.
 
For those who don't know, the DGD is some sort of authority for those
questions :) And Mr. Fugmann definitely *has* thought about his words
hard, before writing this book.

That said, he wouldn't call it 'Indexierung' what TYPO3 does, as he
thinks that *all* automatic indexing is evil. Which is not totally
wrong :)
