Look at the source code of your rendered page

you should disable the not used css that the calendar and news plugins
are rendering

plugin.tx_cal_controller._CSS_DEFAULT_STYLE =

also check if your mails are getting picked up as spam - try sending
them as plain text and see if you have better success
