[TYPO3-UG Australia] problems with extension manager

Thanks roger and paul ... managed to find and copy the folder into
fileadmin..

The next instruction in the tutorial says to create
fileadmin/userfunctions.php

Only problem is that typo3 wont let me create a file with extension .php,
even tho it gives it as an example ... 

Is there another something or other I have to do that isn't explained here?

(gotta love us newbies, dontcha?)
