Hello Steve,

I have exactly the same problem as you. I tested on typo3 4.5.29 and 4.5.30, it still does the same thing.
Even when I try to go onto the record history of a content (where we can rollback to a previous version), there's no color showing the differences either. 

Did you find a way to make it work?
