Hi Steffen,

I was talking about TYPO3 in general, not about TYPO3v4 - get the whole picture plz :).
I don't know the up-to-date state of any core developer, but met Olivier and Ingo on some 
TYPO3 events from 2008-2011 on, and as I recall at least ingo was partly paid for core-work,
but whatsoever, this isn't important.
So for v4 you're right, there is a huge (and correct) shift in payment to FLOW3/Phoenix.

I was getting upset when even my offer for sponsored development wasn't answered at all.
I didn't ask for instantaneous , free excellent work, I just wanted FEEDBACK so I can tell
customers how things are planned.

Our customer needs a scalable workspace module and it's just harmful to TYPO3 when enterprise
customers (this has about 20.000 employees and 1400 TYPO3 users) experience, that there is no support
from the "TYPO3 company", not even a serious answer from what I thought is a core-team. 

TYPO3 as a system should be trustworthy and kind of supported, because i.e. the money companies 
make gets back to the association with member fees (in our case gold status) and therefore makes 
it possible to  develop this system seriously further. It's a far better "swarm" approach to coding a
good software-product and I think any core-participant can be and is proud, when another big website
is launched using his/her work.

PS:

And yes I could dig into the code (you did,thankfully,too and sent me the call-graph), but as u know for
yourself, you gotta earn money for your company and cant spend days on remodeling the core.

So to end this discussion, I learned I was too naïve and will see what solution me and my team can deliver
to the customer with our own knowledge potential.

Let me explain it a bit..

Robert Lemke and Karsten Dambekalns are paid full-time to work in FLOW3/Phoenix. This has absolutely *nothing* to do with v4 or workspaces. But v5 branch gets ~50% of the Associations yearly budget.
But this is required to kickstart these new products.

Ingo Renner works for DKD just as you work for your company. He is absolutely not paid (*) for TYPO3 Core development (like none of us is).

The only 50% paid developer in v4 world is our Core Team Leader Oliver Hader. But he has, of course, a lot of other things to do besides paid development (and that's not what the money is really thought for).

Yes, it is bad that bugs remain unfixed for long time. Please read the discussion in the Association mailing list I posted before. Many people have the opinion that there shouldn't be too much paid development and
TYPO3 should remain a community project.
As you might agree: Its hard to rely on voluntary work for business critical software like TYPO3 is for many of you (**).
