Let me explain it a bit..

Robert Lemke and Karsten Dambekalns are paid full-time to work in
FLOW3/Phoenix. This has absolutely *nothing* to do with v4 or
workspaces. But v5 branch gets ~50% of the Associations yearly budget.
But this is required to kickstart these new products.

Ingo Renner works for DKD just as you work for your company. He is
absolutely not paid (*) for TYPO3 Core development (like none of us is).

The only 50% paid developer in v4 world is our Core Team Leader Oliver
Hader. But he has, of course, a lot of other things to do besides paid
development (and that's not what the money is really thought for).

Yes, it is bad that bugs remain unfixed for long time. Please read the
discussion in the Association mailing list I posted before. Many people
have the opinion that there shouldn't be too much paid development and
TYPO3 should remain a community project.
As you might agree: Its hard to rely on voluntary work for business
critical software like TYPO3 is for many of you (**).
